A big political protest has backed up traffic horribly. Some people have been waiting on the road for days. I wish I had gotten some pictures of the actual protest location, but I was too busy navigating the crowds safely. But here is a sight of the endless and sometimes abandoned trucks:

Computer Problems

No new posts for the indefinite future. My computer’s keyboard died today. I can order a new keyboard, but it will take time to get it to me. Probably 2 or 3 weeks.

I might try for a few posts from internet cafes if I have time.

Palenque

Palenque is possibly my favorite set of ruins in Mexico. Spectacular, interesting, not excessively overrun with tourists, not excessively cleaned up, and lots of campgrounds nearby….including one where I can sleep in a hammock and also walk to the ruins!

Spoon!

It is amazing how fast time can pass by sometimes. If I keep traveling at the rate I have so far through Mexico, it will take at four or five weeks before I reach Belize. But that would mean rushing through Central America too fast to take in any sights. I expect more interesting . . . → Read More: Spoon!

Broken!

A new problem has cropped up on the bike: The metal bracket which holds the fairing at the front of the bike has broken. I am not surprised as this is a common problem with the after market fairing I am using, but it does mean I will spend yet another day here in Oaxaca . . . → Read More: Broken!
